Flexible Shower Schedule

At American Nurses ALF, our residents will decide what time of the day that will schedule their shower, we live it up to them to shower in the morning or in the evening just as they were doing at home, After all this is their home.

Family Owned and Operated

One of the great benefit of moving into a family-owned assisted living facility is that the owners are involved in the day-to-day operations of the ALF and accessible to residents, families, and staff. At a family-owned and -operated ALF, the team members and care partners are empowered to make decisions and respond attentively to resident and family needs without delay. When ALF is a family-run business, so we are more resident-centered and employee-centered as far as the focus.

Aging in Place

Infection Control

  • The aging process affects multiple organs and systems, causing a decline in overall health and the ability to fight infection.
  • People who live, work in an ALF facility, are more likely to share germs.
  • Infections cause pain, injury, disability, and sometimes even death, and can be very expensive to treat.
  • Germs can be found on the hands or gloves of health care workers, on surfaces in the facility, and on medical equipment. If these are not properly cleaned and disinfected, the germs may spread to other people and the environment. In healthy individuals, the immune system fights off germs and prevents infection. Older people, due to the declining ability of their immune systems to resist germs, are more susceptible to infection and can become infected more easily.
  • Residents and staff may be afraid of catching an infection when they stay or work in an ALF facility.
  • Many infections can be prevented with basic infection prevention and control steps, such as hand hygiene and vaccination.
  • Germs are present on our skin and within our bodies. In addition, germs can be found in the air, on surfaces in the environment, and sometimes in food and water. They can enter a person's body through mucus membranes such as the nose, eyes, or mouth, as well as through breaks in the skin, or via a catheter.
  • Some examples of infections from bacteria include urinary tract infections, skin infections, and wound infections. Examples of infections from viruses include the common cold, influenza, some illnesses involving diarrhea, and some types of pneumonia. Fungi can cause skin and nail infections, as well as other types of infections, especially in people with weakened immune systems.

Spacious dinning

At American Nurses assisted living our residents look forward to a great dinning experience a least 3 times a day so that they can spend more time with their peers socializing, not only for the food but because of the chef style delicious meals that we have to offer them whether it’s in our in door or outdoor dining rooms. When it comes to dining our residents have no interest in simply eating their meals in an assembly line manner – they prefer the full experience where they can also socialize with their friends.

At American Nurses ALF, we offer an open concept kitchens & an outdoor grill that allow seniors to experience the thrill of live cooking before it reaches their table.
